Jennifer,

In reviewing the technical specifications and actual features of the EWON product line we are learning that the Sales Representatives did not accurately describe the features of the EWON product line. Unfortunately, we can see no benefit for the City of Molalla to implement this solution as you already have a hardware that can essentially serve the same purpose. The LogMeIn service does provide a secure connection.

We can increase the security of the remote connections by adding a VPN (Virtual Private Networking) to your already installed SonicWall appliances. This is the only usable feature EWON could provide. To implement VPN using your existing SonicWall appliances, would require the operators to login to a VPN Client software tool and then Login to the LogMeIn service before getting access to the plant SCADA. This is an extra step that adds more security, though we are not certain that is needed, it is available.
