Landfill. Let the gentleman at the smaller site know that we looked into it and have decided that we wont be able to include him in our biosolids program and that we are sorry we couldn’t help him out.

Subject: Biosolids Mt Hope Sites

Gerald, the Mt Hope Site is has no wish for biosolids next year. With your go-ahead I think we should tell River City we will be landfill hauling again.

I also don’t think we should attempt to get that other small site approved by DEQ: it’s only going to be about 18 acres of spreadable land, I can’t get River City to commit to quotes without more information from Dyer, and I can’t get Dyer to commit to whether it’s worth it to develop that site without quotes from River City. And even if we can get it all done in time, apparently these farmers don’t necessarily need the biosolids after all! So it’s entirely possible we are just throwing money away and putting ourselves at compliance risk.

To meet the MAO requirements I recommend we stay with what we know is a stable process (landfill hauling), which we know we can manage to full compliance with ever applicable rule.

Let me know your thoughts?

Andy

Request was: Call Ralph Piuser to see if any of the Mt Hope fields can take biosolids next year. 503-349-2078 UPDATE: James, may I delegate this one back to you? I just need to know the answers to the following: 1. Is Mr. Piuser interested in biosolids on his DEQ approved Mt Hope sites next summer? and if so: 2. How many acres does he expect will require solids, and 3. What time window can the City rely on for planning purposes. Finally, pass along that the City is only doing preliminary planning it's it's possible no biosolids will be available at all, we will contact him by end of January if we need to confirm. I'm sort of hoping he does not want biosolids for many practical reasons which we can discuss if you like. Thank you! Called Ralph left message and number to call me. 12/3/18 12-4-2018 Ralph got in contact with James. Ralph at this time has no room for BIO SOLIDS to be applied.
