Attachments: 2015-FC data.pdf; image001.gif; Pat, I have attached 2015 data for total solids and fecal coliform (FC) tested from lagoon 1 at the Molalla WWTP. The City tested FC from 10 locations within lagoon 1, which is scheduled for some biosolids removals later this summer. Data for two of the sample locations is meaningless because the lab reported the data as > 52,000 MPN/g of dry solids (sample #2) and > 38,000 MPN g dry solids (sample #6). I realize that this data is meaningless because we need an actual number for FC. However, if these two samples are disregarded, the City still has 8 valid samples for demonstrating Class B pathogen reduction. My question is shouldn't these 8 samples be sufficient for demonstrating Class B pathogen reduction? The amount of biosolids removed in 2015 will not exceed 300 DT. Given that, my understanding is that only 7 samples need to be tested for FC. Can you please confirm when possible? Thanks. I was out of the office on a number of public meetings. In response to your question concerning the sampling of biosolids. The minimum frequency for sampling biosolids is dependent on the amount of biosolids generated as indicated in the table below. Dry Weigh Metric tons/year Tons/year Monitoring Frequency 0 - 290 0 - 319 Annually 290 - 1,500 319 - 1,650 Quarterly 1,500 - 15,000 1,650 - 16,500 Bimonthly 15,000 and up 16,500 and up Monthly If any biosolids are generated, a facility needs to collect a sample annually which is identified as being a calendar year. Thus, if your last sample was collected in July 2014, you will need a sample for 2015. If you have any other question, please let me know. The City sampled the Biosolids last year in July of 2014. Is this data sufficient to continue using for this year's removal? I've attached the four page Biosolids Analysis Report for your review.
