Hi Vince,

I understand your concerns and during the curtailment everyone will have to sacrifice in some way or another, including us. I have no doubt that Public Works will receive complaints that the parks grass is no longer green and the splash pad is shut down. We wont be hand washing stuff either unless there is a health issue. If we don’t start everyone on conservation now then the list get more draconian and the impacts are greater for everyone. We appreciate your support in this and you’ll be able to say that the Fire Department is doing their part to conserve.

Hi all

Question

Stage one it says no washing of fire trucks. Does that mean no washing of city vehicles also? Can we move to stage two line 7?

Just seems strange to single out fire department. I understand no water for training.

Just asking because I’m going to get these question.

Vince and Mike,

We will be taking a resolution to the City Council on July 14th to activate our water curtailment plan at stage 1. Once it is in effect we will be asking MCC to post on all of the reader boards around town. Attached is the water curtailment table showing the restrictions that will be in place. Of note to you and your staff is item 11 in the Water Alert category which reads, “Prohibit water to be used by Fire Department for drills or truck washing.” We will notify other agencies of the restrictions that affect them. The city shut off all irrigation to the parks and open spaces last week. Thanks and let me know if you have any questions.
