How about we shut the plant down at night since our water use is low.

Subject: Water Plant Scada

Gerald, Industrial Systems says their very earliest to get out here is Thursday, possibly Friday. And the bad news is, even after they arrive they will only be checking things to figure out what parts to order so they can code the chemical feed logic into the Allen-Bradley PLC. In the meantime, we are going to burn our Plant Operators up pretty bad managing the chemical feed manually at night and on the weekends. There will be a bill involved here. I’m going to venture to guess no less than $10,000.

We’re going to try one more thing: Stuart is dropping that spare laptop off to us now, and we’ll load up the software for the AutomationsDirect PLC that we suspect has gone bad tonight. Tomorrow we’ll go try to talk to it and see if it’s throwing codes or something. Maybe we will get lucky. Replacement parts from AutomationsDirect can be over-nighted usually. We’ll see what we can do.

Thanks,

Andy Peters
