It’s playing favorites even if not intended that way. If we send folks a list of vendors and they are on the list then that is OK as long as it states that there is no requirement to use the vendors on the list and it is only for convenience.

Subject: Backflow Question

Gerald,

Quick question for you- I have a tester who has done a lot of GOOD work here in town, can I send him a list of delinquent device addresses (if they are interested) or would that be considered playing favorites? The company is A1 Backflow Services out of Silverton. They are in constant contact with me and from what I’ve seen, they have done a far better job than most of the others. I have not asked if they are interested, thought I’d run it by you first and get your input.

Thanks,

Jeff
