The first two quotes are for media, removal of old media (dump on site w/ our trucks) and installation of media. The last two quotes are just for the media and these companies do not do installs but can be onsite to provide guidance at additional cost (see proposals). Some extra information I got when speaking with ERS is that they seem to think they could do the job in about (3) days, Cascade Water Works is thinking about a week unless we request additional labor at more cost. The Final two quotes for just the media would require that we use our own labor in house, we would more than likely need to use our vac truck, buy several feet of vac hose, rent a forklift and/or conveyor of some type to get the media up to the filter, and use most of our labor force for most of the week. We currently do not have anyone on staff that has done a media replacement at the Water Plant. A few things that concern me with this are that we are not sure what kind of condition the underdrains are in or the condition of the epoxy under the media, and the time it would take to complete the job if we do it ourselves.
