Regular cost to do a digout assuming large quantities is approximately $35-$40 per square yard. That puts the small quantities at $94 per square yard (2.5 times) which is not unreasonable. Good work Andy.

Gerald/Dan, just an accounting cleanup thing: when we had Newman Paving come do the aprons on Industrial Way we originally asked for a PO to do 575 sf. We ended up excavating and replacing 1092.24 sf, so the final bill was $11,385. That’s only $10.43 per sf for the Industrial Roadway section (with our guys doing the dig-out and base rock). I was guessing it was going to be $11 per sf, so I think we still got a good deal. In any case, I am going to increase the amount of the PO to Match, which means the system will send it to Dan for after-the-fact signature.

Respectfully,

Andy Peters
