Not a problem. If they come back to you with an issue then let them know that by our City code, the City is responsible for our sewer system in the right of way and they can contact me directly. That will remove you from their issue if they really have one. Have a good day.

Hi John,
We do not replace laterals unless there is a documented issue with the lateral such as recurring backups. Having standing water in a lateral line in an older section of the City is not uncommon. What has been uncommon recently is a series of requests for the City to replace sewer laterals because a sewer company states there is an issue. My opinion is this is nothing more than a scam to get property owners to have the sewer company do expensive and unnecessary work on the sewer system.
What I can tell you is that if there is an issue with your lateral in the public right of way in the future then the City will perform whatever maintenance needs are required. Feel free to pass this on to your real estate agent or the agent for the prospective buyer. The City will not replace the lateral in the public right of way at this time because there is no need to do so. Thank you.

I am in the process of selling my house at 925 Bronco Ave.. The sewer inspection found an issue that needs to be addressed by the city before the sale can proceed. Please review and advise as soon as possible. Feel free to call me if needed.
