Hi Josh,
In accordance with Molalla Municipal Code 13.08.040 Building Sewer, the City is responsible for all sewer mains and laterals within the public right of way and the property owner is responsible for their sewer lateral from the house to the right of way. If the need does arise to repair or replace the lateral in the street, then the City will hire a contractor to perform that work if City forces cannot do it. At this time there are no clogging or backup issues related to this line. Thanks.
Regards,
Gerald Fisher, P.E. | Public Works Director

Subject: Belly in sewer line
Hello,
Several months ago we spoke on the phone about a belly in the sewer line at my house. The belly was found while having a sewer scope done when I bought the house. I was told that the belly was on the city side of things and if there were ever any problems that it would be the city that was responsible for repairs. I am getting ready to sell the property and would like to see if I can get this information in writing for the potential new buyers?
Please let me know if this is possible. Attached is a copy of the scope report.
Thanks
Josh Randall
