Subject: FW: Long Park Swings

Below is another email from a mother who wants the baby swing out. My gut is that she’s one of Kapa’s folks. Kapa is going to try the “email the City” tactic.

I have a solution:

I can’t accommodate both 2 baby park users (Class A) and >2 bigger kids (Class B) at the same time. But what I realized is that neither class demanding swings is making room for ADA! (call them Class C). Why don’t I put one of these in, $369. Then if Kapa or her folks wish to complain even to City Council, our Councilors will have super solid answers for her: make room for ALL park users. Thoughts?

Subject: Long Park Swings

Hello there!

My name is Casi Johnson and have lived here in Molalla for 4 years and have been raising and expanding my family. I have 2 daughters one of which attends preschool locally.

We visit Long park often with friends and family and my daughters preschool class enjoys the park year round as well. We have noticed a change in the number of swings available for the kids to use. I have a 16month old that likes to swing for a few minutes but the last few times I have been there both weekdays and weekends, we are experiencing a lot of kids waiting in a line to use the 2 regular swings while the baby swings are usually sitting unused. If you have time I would suggest going and visiting the park during busy times and see for yourself how the swing situation at that park plays out.

Bring back the 3rd swing for the older kids, it's amazing what an impact this small change has made on the kids in our community.

Thank you for your time.
