No sweat. I also updated the fire access drawing and eliminated the term
road end alternative. We've had developers try to use that in lieu of the

Good afternoon. Thank you for sending over the detail. Below are my
comments.
1. In the detail, it shows two 10 foot travel lanes with 8 feet of
parking on each side. Total width with these measurements is 36 feet. This
is curb face to curb face. The detail on the lower right side of the page
shows a 34 foot travel lane. Which one is correct? 34 feet is correct. 8
foot parking revised to 7 foot.
2. Can you shed some light on what a 50 foot to a 103 feet cul-de-sac
means and how is that measured? 50 foot wide ROW on street and now 110
foot wide ROW diameter in cul-de-sac.
3. This minimum cul-de-sac width is 96 feet as per code. The detail
shows a 90 foot cul-de-sac. Fixed.
4. Item 9 in the notes should read minimum turning radius is 28'/48'
respectively. Fixed.
5. Please keep in mind that hydrants along access roads require a 26
foot clear space in front of them for a distance of 40 feet. 20 feet each
direction of the hydrant. Yes and the cul-de-sac has no parking as shown
in the side detail lower right.
6. Typically, people tend to park in cul-de-sacs or put basket ball
hoops in them which decreases the turning radius. Has any thoughts been
given to perhaps having the developer install a basketball hoop in the
cement in the cul-de-sac to prevent the ball hoop from being placed in the
street or the right of way? Kiddos can still shoot hoops and get out side
but the hoop wont be on the side walk or in the street. Just a thought.
Nothing allowed in the roadway per our code and standards. Portable hoops
have to remain in driveways or they can go to a court at school or park.
Several in Big Meadows are going to be receiving code enforcement letters
soon about obstructions in the roadway. Fact is that roads are for
traveling and parking and not for playing. Too many liabilities for City
if we allow it.
