Subject: RE: Bathroom Lock Timers at BMX Track

Importance: Normal

Hi Casey,

Thanks for the email. All or our parks are open from dusk to dawn and we

set the restrooms to open at 7am and increase time as the year goes on.

Currently they are set for 9pm (sunset is at 8:44 pm today) to lock and

our crew is going out today to make sure the timer is still on local time

and locking at 9pm. Sorry if the timers have slipped causing an early

lockdown. We have problems leaving them open later than what is allowed by

code throughout the City with transients and vandals doing damage, so

that's why the time locks were installed several years ago. The BMX club

knows about the timers and is supposed to be providing additional portable

toilets during these events. Our restrooms only have a certain capacity

and cannot handle a BMX event.

I've asked the crew to check the timers as we get closer to the BMX events

and hopefully that will take care of the early lock problems you

experienced. Thanks.

Regards,

Subject: Bathroom Lock Timers at BMX Track

Hi, My family travels weekly to your BMX track and love what your track

provides for our children and families all over the Northwest. Many

people however are inconvenienced by the timing of the automatic door

locks on the bathroom at the track. Races often run until 9:30 p.m. on

Friday nights and the bathrooms auto lock around 8:00, leaving people

scrambling for a solution. Many people wonder why the lock time can't be

changed until 10:00 p.m. given the number of attendees needing the

facilities on Friday nights. The track will soon be hosting the state

national championships and hundreds of people will be descending upon the

track for a weekend in August and then too the bathrooms will be in need.

What can be done to change the bathroom timers on the doors at the BMX

track by one hour to accommodate citizens needing to use the facilities?

Thank you,

Casey Sinigaglia
