Subject: 110 S Mathias - Code File

Chief,

Here is my file for the 110 Mathias nuisance case. If you could add that quick piece backing me up that would be much appreciated.

Amy,

I’ve attached the narrative I’ve written up and my most recent pictures of the situation. I’m wondering what our recourse is for abatement and other avenues. My sense is, these people won’t show and we’ll be stuck fielding reports for months on this.

All - I wanted to loop all the heads in as this situation is reaching a boiling point in the community. We had another stop in today about this property. The report was regarding the junk and RVs (for which we have already cited them) but also included a piece about burning, likely involving the junk/garbage. I sent them to MFD and we had a brief correspondence about that piece. It sounds like we’ll need to coordinate a bit around any fire complaints since the City’s ordinance has the most teeth but my understanding (and common sense) is I should not be setting foot on that property without a Police escort. I imagine more burning reports will be coming in. Whoever gets the report between myself, police, and fire – we’ll need a police escort to confirm the nature of the burn and then I can enforce.

On that note – a great long weekend to all,

Zinder
