I am one of the Environmental Health Specialists for Clackamas County Public Health Department.
I went to Buckaroo Deli in Molalla yesterday for the routine semi-annual inspection. I had previously let the owner know that a restaurant remodel required a plan review with our department. The owner Ryan told me in January that he would submit one. He never did. He has received multiple e-mails, reports, and phone calls over the course of the last 9 months.
The walls and ceiling are unfinished and the remodel has food sanitization requirements not met. I called the owner Ryan Gengler yesterday to ask him to please work with me on this. I don’t know if any building department inspections have been completed.
I have not heard back from Mr. Gengler yet after leaving a voicemail yesterday.
A wall was removed, new grill, fryer and hood were installed. There was electrical in the wall that was removed. There may other structural, plumbing or electrical changes that I am not aware of. The remodel did not include a utility/mop sink installation. This will need to be done.
Will you please let me know if there are any pending permits without having been passed?
Part of the Health Department Requirements is to be compliant with Building Codes. Can you confirm if this facility has any pending building compliance issues?
If you need to do a site visit with the owner, how do you feel about making it a joint visit with me as well?
