The only responsibility for Public Works is to make sure the gate is open or we can provide Leota a key. The only other issues are that they will need cones. She has a number of volunteers so she wants to know if she can pick them up from the Shop. I do not want any more responsibility than the gate/key and provision of cones, etc.

She has sked if she should coordinate with Andy directly.

Hey Team! Finally got the flyer put together about Friday. It is attached for your review. The plan below is designed with heavy usage projected and to ensure the highest level of safety for both vehicle and pedestrian traffic (us!).

Molalla Sanitary will deliver four 22x8x6 drop boxes Thursday afternoon. I will be on site when the delivery is made so that together we can decide on the best placement. My thoughts:

• * Lay out the boxes in such a way that we can accommodate eight lanes, one on each side of all boxes. If we, for example, lay out four boxes end-to-end, and have only two lanes, vehicles will be pulling in and out of the lane, vs. going through the lane. Safety first.
• * All traffic will be one-way. There are two driveways into the field. One will be an entrance, the other an exit.
• * Designate boxes and direct traffic based on light, medium, or heavy loads. In other words, one box might be considered an express lane and we will direct small loads to that bin. If someone has a pickup bed full, we will direct them to the bin for heavy loads. This is in an effort to keep traffic moving and promote safety for everyone.
• * Use traffic cones to designate lanes to the extent possible.

What will our individual duties be?

• * One or possibly two at the entrance.

• * Make sure people aren't bringing items that cannot be accepted.

• * We will have flyers on hand to give out if there is a question.
• * You will be able to, in some cases, spot items that aren't allowed (like a washing machine in the back of a pickup).

• * Direct vehicles to the appropriate bin, based on size of load and number of vehicles in line at bins.

• * One at each bin.

• * Further directing traffic. Ideally, a vehicle will pull up to the bin, dispose of their trash, wait for the individual in front of them to move forward, then follow.
• * Direct vehicles to the exit and aid in controlling traffic as it funnels to the exit, if necessary.

Thursday I will gather safety vests, traffic cones, and flags to have on hand Friday.

The flyer has been posted on a large number of pages on fb as well as the City of Molalla website. Please do what you can to share the information and ensure the success of the project.

Let me know if you have any questions. Otherwise, I'll see you Friday. There is a 50 percent chance of showers and most cloudy with a high near 60. Be prepared.
