Subject: Water Leak last night

Folks, last night we had a car hit a hydrant on N. Molalla at Francis. There were multiple houses and yards flooded, and lots of dirty water in pipes. Police and Fire responded, and public works flushed mainlines for nearly 5 hours. You may get calls of voicemails this morning, and this is so you know what’s going on. The mainlines have been flushed and residual chlorine is okay. Folks can flush their home lines through sinks, tubs, and faucets to get rid of any remaining turbidity or color. Residual Chlorine is okay, so we do not anticipate any health risks in the system. We are now in Section “5.1.2 Damage Assessment” of our WTP Emergency Response Plan. Work is being tracked on WO#9240.

Respectfully,

Andy Peters
