Importance: Normal

Just got back from Bear Creek Subdivision. After about 10 minutes of searching, because I have nothing else going on, I found the catch basin but because Mr. Lelm did not tell us about it when he saw it, there wasn’t much evidence left in the storm system to pursue it from an environmental stand point.

LGI was not the culprit. Turns out it was a property owner, who was thoroughly scolded by me, and he is now sweating about a violation. We will tie this off and provide education to the homeowner that decades of education locally, statewide, and nationally about dumping stuff down storm drains is a no-no. More frustrating is that LGI staff offered to pick it up from the homeowner and dispose of it properly but before they could get there the homeowner had dumped it down the storm drain. My head hurts thinking that there are people still out there that don’t get this.

For the folks out on FB this is also another education opportunity that FB will not solve their problems and to use the real tools available to them to report violations when they happen. Phone, email, online forms. Please feel free to convey my frustrations to folks on Molalla Now that their FB soap box will not fix problems and just makes things worse.

Thanks Leota.

Leota,

I don’t have FB. Please contact Michael Lelm and tell him to stop posting to FB and contact the Public Works. FB will not go out and fix the problem for him. I need to know where it is at so I can get images of it and tear LGI homes a new hole. Thanks.

Saw this from fb this morning.

Michael W. Lelm to Molalla NOW

3 hrs ·

Bear Creek Subdivision.

I walk my new subdivision everyday to exercise my puppies.

Yesterday I noticed some dickhead did or has been dumping PAINT down the storm drains!
