All,

I looked up the text and here is what is says from the US House website. This is well upstream of Molalla’s intake and effluent discharge and I put together a map of the location for you.

“(A) IN GENERAL.—The following segments in the State of Oregon, to be administered by the Secretary of the Interior as a recreational river:

“(i) MOLALLA RIVER.—The approximately 15.1-mile segment from the southern boundary line of T. 7 S., R. 4 E., sec. 19, downstream to the edge of the Bureau of Land Management boundary in T. 6 S., R. 3 E., sec. 7.

“(ii) TABLE ROCK FORK MOLALLA RIVER.—The approximately 6.2-mile segment from the easternmost Bureau of Land Management boundary line in the NE1⁄4 sec. 4, T. 7 S., R. 4 E., downstream to the confluence with the Molalla River.

“(B) WITHDRAWAL.—Subject to valid existing rights, the Federal land within the boundaries of the river segments designated by subparagraph (A) is withdrawn from all forms of—

“(i) entry, appropriation, or disposal under the public land laws;

“(ii) location, entry, and patent under the mining laws; and

“(iii) disposition under all laws relating to mineral and geothermal leasing or mineral materials.”.

Dear Mr. Huff,

Please extend the following invitation to your staff. We hope to see you all soon.

Hurray! After 12 long years of effort, the Molalla River has been designated as federal Wild & Scenic river. The proposal is part of a larger package that passed both houses of Congress by a large margin and was signed into law by President Trump today. We are elated and ready to celebrate! We hope you'll join us in a gathering to celebrate this honor for our beautiful river. We will be hosting a party at the White Horse Restaurant Bar & Grill, 106 E Main in Molalla from 5-7pm on Tuesday, March 19th. Appetizers provided and a no-host bar will be available. Congressman Kurt Schrader will be our guest of honor.

Please come raise a glass to the Molalla River with us!

Bill Taylor, Molalla River Watch

John Atkins, Molalla River Alliance

Tom Derry, Native Fish Society

David Moryc, American Rivers
