Jody – My first response is that you not meet with her because she is a plaintiff against the City of Molalla where you are an official officer. She (I believe) does not think you all are informed. And, even though we have improved and we are improving wastewater she continues to work against our progress toward building the new plant. In fact, she has already begun to advocate that Business Oregon NOT work with us for funding of the new plant. I find no benefit to you or any other Councilor or staff member meeting with Susan Hansen. And you are not obligated to do so as our city attorney has stated.

Business Oregon is the state agency that we start with for going after funding to build the new treatment plant. Brian Guiney is the staff person we work with – he is a good guy and is excited about helping Molalla. My self and one of our engineers met with them to find out where we thought we stood. We just need a plant choice to move forward now.

Ms. Hansen will disparage any and everyone who may have a different opinion than hers and/or supports Molalla moving forward.

Hi Dan,

I got this from Ms. Hansen last night. Also, on her Bear Creek Facebook page she offered to meet with me for coffee. I’m not sure what I think about that. It it hard for me to separate her truth, from her opinions, from her embellishments.

What is this Business Oregon meeting she is talking about?

Also, what is the Revolving fund?

I thought Gerald did fine at the meeting. My frustration would totally give me away. He always is able to answer in such a calm and measured way. That is a gift!

I’m sorry I had to scoot before we were totally finished, but my volunteer shift started at 1pm.

Ms.Newland,

Your "managers" claimed today that they could not project potential rate payer costs for the wastewater improvement loans. However, last summer Business Oregon and other loan agencies presented Molalla in a meeting with all the attached facts about what it would cost rate payers for the lowest possible wastewater plant - the $46 million plant based on all modifications being granted. It is hard to believe anyone still believes Molalla will be granted any of these modifications and thus will need more like $70+ million. In my opinion, for Mr. Fisher to claim today that he didn't have any idea about potential costs to ratepayers was not truthful.

You commented on the BCR FB page that people didn't come to meetings. I would expect if you wrote a letter or op-ed explaining the coming costs and inviting interested public to a quarterly meeting in an evening you would be surprised at how many people come. When their money is on the line, they will turn out. I'd say it is better to give them info about coming costs rather than suddenly have to impose huge increases which won't be able to be removed by a vote since DEQ and Molalla have the MAO that legally requires Molalla produce a new, conforming wastewater facility.

Have your "managers" shared this info with the Council yet? Note below that Ms. Childress was asking in Nov. well after the Business Oregon meeting for financial loan info and I shared this info with her.

Dear Councilor Childress,

In reviewing a public records package from DEQ I was surprised to find your email from Nov. 2018 with Chris Marko (copied to Tiffany Yelton-Bram of DEQ) asking about state revolving funds for infrastructure. Way back last summer your City "staff" met with Business Oregon/ State Revolving Funds and the attached info was provided by Business Oregon via a public records request. Per the email exchanges it is clear your "managers" were interacting on the funding issues way back in 2017. Didn't your "managers" fill you and your fellow City Councilors in on this important Revolving Fund
