Thanks Gerald.

Aldo, I would like to discuss and understand the rulings you find. Then I can either talk to the business owner or accompany you when you go see her.

Hi Leota,

Signs, flags, etc. are under the private side and are handled by Aldo in Planning.

Aldo,

Please provide her with the information she is looking for so that she can respond to a concern from a business owner. You may want to speak with the business owner if there was a code that they were not aware of as part of our education before enforcement procedures. Thanks.

Regards,

Subject: Flags on street right of way

Good Morning Gerald,

I was visiting with Debbie Hoffman who owns Hoffman House Antiques at the corner of Fenton and Hwy 211. She has had a flag banner, one of the tall skinny ones, in front of her building on the Hwy 211 site for a very long time. It was in the ground in front of the hedge on the property. Some time not too long ago, a woman from the City, I'm assuming Brenda, came by and told her she had to take it down. Debbie didn't understand and wasn't given the reason it had to be removed.

I've searched the municipal code and can't find anything relating to this. Can you please direct me to the section that addresses signs, flag banners, placement thereof, etc.

Thank you!
