Not sure what your day looks like Thursday the 27th, but I thought I'd invite you to join me to talk to the kids at Renniasance about our careers. It starts about 11:45, and the 4 of us would have about an hour.

Let me know if you are interested. I need to let her know Monday who will be there so the kids can prepare questions for us.

Jimmy

Hi Mr. Thompson,

It was so nice to chat with you today. It sounds like you have some great things to tell our students. I love that you know video games. I definitely don't! So we will see you (and maybe some others) on Thursday, Sept. 27th at 11:40am. We have until 1:15 so there is plenty of time for anyone who would like to come. I will have the students prepare some questions in advance but if you could tell them about yourself, your high school career, why you chose to study what you did in school, your college experience, and how you feel about your career---plus anything else you would like to talk to them about---that would be terrific.

Thank you so much!

Best,

Subject: Introduction & Community Career Day

Hello Mayor Thompson,

My name is Cheryl Goodson and I am a student success coordinator at a charter school here in Molalla, Renaissance Public Academy. It is my job, and pleasure, to show students what is possible after high school and help them come up with a plan to accomplish it.

I would like to have what I am calling, A Community Career Day. It is my hope to take our high school students, around 30, to Molalla to meet with community leaders and business owners to hear what it took for them to get into their specific field. I was wondering if you would be available to meet our students and have a discussion with them about becoming a mayor, what you studied in college and etc.

I am hoping to get something together for Sept. 21st. Of course all of this is very tentative as I wait to hear back from everyone.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best,

Cheryl Goodson
