9/20 Town Hall – I want to make sure that we are only talking about the Street Maintenance Utility Fee. That is what I got from the Council Meeting that they wanted to get input from the community on whether or not they would accept a fee to maintain the roads or to let them fall apart.
9/21 TSP Project Advisory Committee Meeting at 6:30 pm at the Adult Center. Open to the public.
9/27 Council Meeting – Council accept the rate study document and direct staff on rate resolution to bring back at the first meeting in October. They can follow the rate study and adopt a resolution that automatically changes the rates each July 01 for water, sewer, and stormwater or something similar. They also need to decide if they want to start a Transportation Capital Improvement Fee (NOT to be confused with street maintenance) and how much they want to set it at to start. The range was $12 - $18 in the report. Another option is for them to create a Transportation Improvement and Maintenance Fee where they allocate a portion to street maintenance and a portion to capital improvement. For example, $7 with $5 going to maintenance and $2 going to capital projects.
10/11 Council Meeting – Resolution setting fees for water, sewer, stormwater, transportation capital improvements, and street maintenance.
Supplemental Budget – Need funding tweaks soon otherwise we will have to hold on some projects and completion of others. Projects affected are Fenton Street CDBG and Wastewater Master Plan. Another item not included in the supplemental budget is the permit work. We have a proposal to modify the discharge permit for $71,011 but based on the latest information it appears that we only need to modify our Recycled Water Use Plan. I still need to get a proposal for that work to see how much it will cost but I have about $17,000 unbudgeted in the WWMP project.
