All – Here is a comment from City Counselor Leota Childress regarding the proper use of the English language on a recent notice. We need to do better than this in everything we put out to the public. We have people and tools available to make sure we are above reproach.

Dan, Christie sent the notice as requested. It's rather embarrassing to see several spelling errors in it. I hadn't seen the notice but did see a comment, yes on fb, about it. The use of spell/grammar check would have prevented these errors. I know we're a big "company" and everyone is trusted to do their job well, as it should be. If an employee has a spelling or language challenge, it's all the more important they use the tools available in the word processing program. We need to look sharper than this.
I'll even offer to proofread if that would be helpful. Although I'm confident Christie could do the same.
