Hi Gerald,

You're missing all the fun here in the Molalla rain. At the Chamber of Commerce breakfast this morning, our dear friend G.S. said he talked to the contractor who said they are eight weeks behind on the cement/sidewalk work. I was fuming but didn't say anything. I went directly to your office.

I rather doubt that the actual contractor was out there. He probably talked to some worker. If so, I think the employees should be talked to about even discussing such things with anyone. I know, this is the contractor and sub-contractor's duty, not ours.

What is the deadline on the project and where do we stand? I'd like to quash these rumors in an email to the Chamber Board.

Thanks!

Hi Leota,

Who is saying the contractor is 8 weeks behind schedule and what are they basing their information on? I have not been asked where they are at on their schedule. Did they get this from the contractor? Or is this just speculation on Facebook? Please fill me in on this when you have a moment. Thanks.

Leota,

Per our conversation, I sent a text to Gerald and asked if we were 8 weeks behind on the sidewalks on main street.

He replied and said:

“We don’t control the schedule. The contractor does. We give them a deadline and the rest is up to them. This is how public contracts work. “
