Robert, Jake and I were able to meet on site and take a deeper look at the fence-line adjoining the City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant to your property at 1720 Toliver. Having cleared the brush and blackberries we can see how this all started - with downed trees, likely years ago(?). We’ve got a plan in place now, but there are a few steps we’d like to take: we have Utility Crew scheduled for the coming weeks to handle the downed trees first (image attached). Then we will look at pulling the fence more vertical using our equipment, and removing barbed wire where it makes sense, to make the site safe until we can get the fence repair approved. We should be able to brush hog the fence line going forward each year to avoid future problems, and can launch fence repairs in July next year.

Your reference work orders for future discussions are:

#11998 Utility Crew: tree cleanup

#12999 WWTP: pull fence vertical, removed barbed wire to make the site safe

#12001 Supervisor: budget for fence repairs in FY 21/22, scheduled for July

Jake/Andy,

I understand everyone's budget's are stretched thin. However, the fence has come free from the posts and is actually leaning 3-5 feet onto my property. Normally this wouldn't be an issue but it makes it so that I cannot work on my side of the fence. In addition there is barbed wire that is also loose and hanging down onto the ground making a hazard for my grandkids and pets. While you wait to get the funds for a permanent repair can you pick up and/or remove the barbed wire and at least pull back or prop up the fencing material so that it is not intruding onto my property and hindering my ability to do my yardwork and cleanup?

I appreciate any attention you can give to this matter.

Thank you

Robert Routley

Melanie,

My best guess would be next fiscal year or as the budget allows us to.

Do you know when you will actually fix the fence

Yes. I will be staring in the South East corner and work west. I probably wont get it all done this Friday, but will work on it through the summer to accomplish the project.

Thank you so much. Are you going to do the entire fence line for the other neighbors also?

Melanie,

This Friday I am going to have a trackhoe brought to the waste water treatment facility to start clearing the black berries growing along the south side of your property. If you have any questions please feel free to call or respond back.
