Good afternoon, Mr. Fisher.

Gelco Construction Co. recently submitted a bid for a public improvement project we are involved with and you were listed as one of their references. The project was for the City of Molalla titled, “Shirley St. Sidewalk” and it was completed in 2019. Would you please answer a couple of questions relating to the contractor’s performance?

  1. 1. Was the project completed on time? If not, were there circumstances beyond the contractor’s control?

 

  1. 2. Was the project completed within budget parameters? The bid documents show $80,000 for the original bid, and $106,600 for the final contract amount. Are these amounts correct? Were there circumstances beyond the contractor’s control that led to the price increase?

 

  1. 3. General impressions or comments about Gelco Construction Co.?
