Karla, this won’t happen again. We’ll also swing by and clear off that sidewalk. Feel free to contact me for immediate response if this happens again.

Andy,
Please see below. May need to do a review of how they gather leaves so we don’t inadvertently affect other properties. Thanks.

Hi Karla,
Thanks for emailing me and letting me know about the leaves. I will share this information with our Operations Supervisor, Andy Peters, so he can make sure that our work does not have any negative impact on surrounding properties. Sorry for the inconvenience. Let me know if you have any further issues out there at the park. Thank you.

Subject: Long Park. Leaf clean up.
Mr. Fisher,
I am writing to express a concern I have.
My business is located at 260 N. Molalla Avenue, Suite D.
KAPA Dance, Music & Theater, & Twinkling Stars Preschool.
Our building back door opens to the City Park. We use the park often.
A few weeks ago, I paid one of my employees to sweep all the leaves off the back sidewalk behind my building.
We use the back walk way daily to get to the park, and we keep our back door open during dance classes for ventilation.
When the back walk is covered in leaves, they blow into our building making quite a mess. So we try to sweep at least once every two weeks, sometimes more often. We swept all the way down past the gyms back door. They too keep their back door open for ventilation.
The very next day, two city workers came to the park, during our preschool snack time, with blowers and blew all of the leaves out of the park.
The park looked really nice, but they blew them up against the bushes that back up to our building. Since they were using blowers, a tremendous amount of leaves blew over the bushes and back on to the sidewalk that we had just swept the previous day.
I was in shock. I began filming them in case they didn't pick them up and I could have proof that it happened if necessary.
- They did not clean up the leaves they blew onto the sidewalk .
As they were leaving the park, I went and talked to them and told them I had just paid someone to clean the sidewalk, and if they could blow the leaves off the sidewalk I would appreciate it.
They apologized and came back and blew the leaves off.
I was grateful. They were sweet kids, kind and respectful when talking to them, but just not thinking.
I am not sure if that was the last time or not, but again today, the park is relatively clear of leaves, the bushes behind our building are piled up with leaves, in a clean line, and of course the back sidewalk was covered.
- I went out and swept it myself this morning, but I really wish they would not blow the leaves in our direction.
If they need to blow them this direction, maybe they can bag them up, or mulch them or find a way to get rid of them so we don't have to.
There are a huge amount of leaves. Maybe they can blow them in the direction of the Fire Station and up against that building instead since it is City owned, not privately owned, and no one usually goes near the side of the Fire Station in the park.
I don't mind keeping our sidewalk clean, I just cannot afford to pay someone to do the same job twice in a week and I don't think I should be responsible to dispose of the leaves from the park.
Thank you for understanding.
