Hi Nicole,
The discussion last night was not about the City’s drinking water but was about treated wastewater from our wastewater treatment plant that processes the City’s sewage. We maintain chlorine levels in the water distribution system to keep the lines clean and free of bacteria. If you are having an odor, color, or taste problem you can contact our water staff at the Water Treatment Plant and they will investigate to see if there is any issues in your area. The number there is 503.829.5408. Please let the staff know what the issue is that you are having and your address and they will be happy to help you. Thank you.

Subject: Water Question
Good Morning Gerald,
As I was listening to the very insightful information that you provided about the City’s water at the City Counsel meeting last night, I made me think about the struggle that I have with my drinking water in our home.
I was hoping you could help me understand why our tap water has such a strong smell and taste of chlorine that I finally just started purchasing bottled water.
Thank you for your time and help,
Nicole Watson
