Subject: Water and sewer billing

Mr Fisher,

I am hoping you can clarify the sewer usage part of the monthly water and

sewer bill.

Last year my “winter average” listed on my bill was higher than my true

winter average. The higher “winter average” listed increased my bill. I

called to report that the “winter average” on my bill was incorrect. I

received the answer that the City of Molalla had established a minimum

“winter average” that would be charged if the service addressed true winter

average was lower. I wasn’t happy considering my true winter average was

much lower than the “winter average” used to calculate the sewer usage

charged.

This month’s bill showed an increase of $1.98 in my sewer usage amount now

being f $14.12. I checked the city’s web site for information of the

charges. I couldn’t find anything listing minimum charges related to sewer

usage. I inquired via email asking for the minimums. I received an email

telling me sewer usage is calculated by my winter average, there are no

minimums. That my winter average had increased so that is why the total

sewer usage monthly charge increased to $14.12.

The email counters what I was told last year as to why the “winter average”

listed on my bills was higher than my true winter average.

I sincerely hope you can bring some clarity to the very confusing

calculations of the water and sewer billing system.

Sincerely

Sheri
