Good Afternoon Gerald,

It was nice to meet you last month at the Chamber meeting. I am writing to follow up on the request we talked about to hang some purple lights up on City Hall for the month of October? I could also hang something on a post or something nearby the entrance explaining the lights and bringing awareness to the issue. I have sent an email request to Jimmy Thompson hoping to get a proclamation on the City Council agenda, so I am still waiting to hear about that. It would be nice to have the lighting set up by the start of October and definitely before the proclamation if at all possible. Of course I can deliver the lights whenever it’s convenient for you. I think I recall they put the lights on the outside of City Hall last year. Maybe one of your staff recalls what that looked like? Is this going to be possible this year? I sincerely appreciate anything you can do to help me out.

I recently learned Molalla Police responded to 28 incidents of domestic violence last year and we know that was likely under-reported. Since 2014 when my grant started the advocates working under this funding source have assisted 828 survivors of domestic violence in rural Clackamas County, so there is definitely a compelling need to talk about the problem.
