This is a generous offer for them to make, but we still have to protect ourselves from any potential liability. They want to distribute eggs to families in need and are requesting to partner with the Chamber on an egg pick-up booth. They don’t yet have a date in mind, but they have permission from Mr. Deardorff to use the private parking lot between the old/maybe new pizza restaurant and the Main Street Showhouse building (see below). She wanted to know if it was okay with the City to do this. I told her if it’s one-time event, we would allow it and not require any temporary use permits. If it becomes a more regular event, we will reconsider that. I checked with Darlene who didn’t think this would need a special events permit. Because Gerald is out, I put on my “traffic circulation thinking cap” and suggested a couple of locations on that property that would work best for the booth location. We want to ensure the booth isn’t placed in such a manner as to cause a queuing problem on Main Street. These are my thoughts. I have no idea how much traffic this will generate or the time of day. Those details will follow after the Chamber has a meeting later today or tomorrow with Willamette Egg. If you have comments/thoughts/considerations, let me know: <image001.png>
