Grant – One more time - the City did not raise SDC fees “significantly” and Council definitely did not make that decision on February 8th. If you look at the last pages of that large document, you will find that the City Council altered the bulk water fee and actually lowered review and inspection fees. SDC fees were not examined or approved on February 8th.

If you are talking to a homebuilder(s) they may want to contact the public works director for accurate information.

Dan Huff, City Administrator

If I missed this I am sorry but on page last few pages of the agenda package for Feb 8th, I read that the city council would adopt by resolution the new service fees. The most important to my builder members would of course be the SDC fees for construction of a single family home, most probably to use a ¾” water service. This I thought would have been required to be adopted and the vote recorded as stated in the resolution. This was not a notice or call to alarm, just a notice that the SDC fees for a new single family would significantly increase as of Feb. 8th. I also offered an apology to them for failing to inform them sooner. If informed they might have wanted to make input. You must admit that it being on the last pages of the large document it was hard to find.

Leota – The City Council did not address SDC fees in any way last night. You made a decision on “bulk water rates” only with regard to water. Your decision does not impact ¾” inch water meter’s or fees associated with a ¾ “ water meter. The City Council did address SDC fees this past December 2016 after 6 months of meetings and data production including advanced notice. I am unaware of any unpreparedness.

The Council meeting has a many listed event tonight. The ODOT appeal is one, but one not published in advance or known to me is the increase in SDC fees for a house with a 3/4 " water meter.

The total SDC fees for this typical home will now be $22,096.44 immediately upon adoption. Last time we had many homes under construction and were not prepared for the increase.
