Subject: Rodeo Walk of Fame

Importance: Normal

Dear friends of Molalla;

I have applied for a $40,000 grant to improve the rodeo walk of fame, with funds to place more plaques, provide for advertizing, and promote the new street improvements on Molalla Ave. The Chamber is selling opportunities to be a benefactor for this worthwhile cultural and historic project, and is having great success.

My application has been approved as a project meeting the requirements of the County Tourism and Cultural Affairs. It passed the first hurdle. We are in competition with other projects in Clackamas county for the funds available.

I am filing an additional informational update to the Tourism Council on their request to help determine if they would choose to fully fund this grant request, or make a partial gift.

It is my request that you please offer a letter of support for this project, to assist in adding additional plaques of selected rodeo “Heroes” to better enhance the project, and sooner create the tourism location it will be eventually. The Beautiful new sidewalks, streets, and park improvements will be noteworthy as a national free walking museum, attracting many of the thousands of visitors to Molalla’s Rodeo, and equine activities, as well as those passing through might be engaged by the unusual venue and it’s beauty. Included in the budget for this project are promotional and support funds. We will be advertizing in Travel Oregon, Clackamas County Tourism, “Rodeo Sports News”, at the Buckeroo, Social Media and specific Rodeo and horse related events and publications.

If possible, please address a brief note to the Clackamas County Tourism and Cultural Affairs to express your support. I would be pleased to include these letters in my submission to the Tourism Council. You may e-mail them to me, are call, and I could stop by to pick them up.

I plan to make my appeal on August 30th. Thank you for your consideration.
