Hi Darlene,

Please loop Sam and Andy in on business licenses. Andy will be looking at whether or not they trigger the pretreatment code and Sam will be looking at conditions of development, permitting, etc. Go ahead and CC me on these and I will help answer any questions Sam or Andy has going forward. Thanks.

Regards,

Okay I didn’t know that. This document helps! I will read and learn the new process. I just looped Gerald in by email a few moments ago, before I received this from you, so he may have a few questions.

Hi Andy,

We’ve separated the business license application process from the land use/planning process due to legal constraints and conflation of the two processes.

For business license reviews, Planning will determine if a process is required and this will be communicated to the applicant with their approval.

SDC’s are charged as part of the planning process, but in this case are not required as it is a Temporary Mobile Food Unit application.

Basically this does 2 things: Communicates any additional requirements with business license applicants in writing, and provides 2 avenues for enforcement if they fail to comply (business license revocation and development code violation).

I’ve attached the business licensing policy for your review, let me know if you want to chat about this.

I’m not up to speed on the recent rules for mobile food carts but I don’t see GL entries for their Mobile Food Unit Type I application from the new resolution 2021-11, and I see no payments for SDCs. Not sure what the final decision was for what Mobile Food Carts would be charged. I can’t approve without more research, You guys might consider looping Gerald in on this one.
