Importance: Normal
Okay, so I got confused because it could be read as “I’m on standby for this whole day, which is 24 hours”. We meant “hours of standby compensation”.
8.6 Compensation during Holidays. Employees who are required to be on Standby Time during a Holiday will be compensated at a not-to-exceed total rate of double time and one half for each hour of Standby compensated under 8.4. Employees who are required to be on Call Back during a Holiday will be compensated at a not-to-exceed total rate of double time and one half for each hour of Call Back.

No. Christmas eve is not a holiday. Normal pay for normal hours worked. Christmas Day you get 2 hours for the duty and 2 hours if you make rounds at the plant for a total of 4 hours at double time and a half.

It seems fine operationally, and I like that you added “monitoring plant systems” because that covers the duty person signing on to scada once each night. Their opposition will be that it takes away their automatic 4 hours for holding the pager on Saturday and Sunday. But then again, it compensates them considerably more on the Holdiays, fight? So if you hold the pager for 48 hrs on Christmas Eve and Christmas day, you get 48 hours at “double time and one half”?

Gerald, here is my version. I think we have an equivocation going on with the word “Standby”. Striking it cleans things up a lot: There is only “Duty". And of Duty, there is “Weekend/Holiday” and “Weekday”.
