It is with great pleasure that I invite you to attend the Molalla Ave. Grand

Opening & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Saturday, May 20th, at 2pm. The event

will take place at Long Park in the City of Molalla, next to the Fire

Station.

This event will celebrate the completion of the most significant investment

in infrastructure improvements within the City of Molalla in recent history,

and the improvements are right in our downtown core. With a price tag of

$2.2 million, funded mostly through Urban Renewal, the improvements include

upgraded water and sewer lines, a complete road reconstruction, street

lighting, ADA compliant sidewalks and street trees, as well as a bike plaza

to complement Long Park. We now have a walkable, and far more aesthetically

pleasing down town. These improvements complete right on the heels of the

unveiling of new banners bringing bright color to our downtown from a Ford

Family Leadership cohort project. If you have not been downtown for a while,

now is definitely the time to check it out.

It was over a year ago that this project broke ground. Traffic diversions

and associated congestion have been rule since. It is finally over. Our

downtown is fully open for business again. The last year has not been easy

for our local businesses. I would like to personally extend my gratitude to

them for their patience and understanding, and hope that the improved

accessibility brings even more guests to their doors.

I hope to see you there.

Best Regards,

Jimmy L. Thompson
