Hello everyone,
This is a follow up email to our last meeting in regards to additional retirement plans. At the meeting I was asked to get the best plans that offer the best return for individuals. There is no way for me to do that it is based on individual need and options that are chosen. What the City is doing is simply allowing 3 additional vendors or options to choose from. It will be up to each employee to contact the vendor and get set up.
I did however contact the PERS Rep for Molalla he wanted to explain the differences between private 457 individual retirement accounts and public 457 individual retirement accounts or also known as Oregon Growth Savings funds because they work differently for public employees. I have set that meeting up for Tuesday March 5th at 3pm in place of the OPS meeting for public works in the conference room.
