Dear Mayors, C4 City Members, and City Managers:

I have heard you loud and clear, both in personal meetings and at C4, encouraging Clackamas County to enact a vehicle registration fee. As you know, Clackamas County does not take this decision lightly and wants to ensure we have the support of our cities as we move forward. I am asking for your help to rally a support letter from your respective cities speaking to the need for this funding in our county and in your communities. Attached is a template letter you might use as a guide, and an example of what we believe it will take for Clackamas County to get to yes! Also attached is the local road funding chart comparing Clackamas’ local revenues to our neighboring counties.

For the last 22 years, local funding measures have failed in Clackamas County. I believe we can succeed if we work together. My hope is for the Commission to begin hearings on a potential VRF by the end of 2018. Any support you can provide to help a VRF succeed is greatly appreciated!
