I am not having an issue with the program we are using. Currently.

Do you know how much the new licensing and software would cost? Does everyone’s budget allow for that? Is it 10 licenses?

Hi,

DZ and I are regularly experiencing trouble with our Acrobat Pro. It gives us an “out of memory” message when we are scrolling through larger documents and seems to be quite sensitive when we happen to have 3 or more PDF documents open at once. Acrobat Pro or Acrobat DC (the subscription plan I had when I was a consultant) is an important tool for Planning processes. Planning uses Adobe Acrobat a lot for digital plan review, including digital date stamps, digital approval stamps, digital comments on plans, etc. Our current Acrobat Pro is currently too buggy for us to keep using long-term.

You will see that DZ and Stuart coordinated earlier this week about our current licenses and options for acquiring a more current version of Acrobat Pro or Acrobat DC. DZ and I suspect that the reason our Acrobat Pro is “buggy” is because it may be a version that is no longer supported or updated by Adobe (I think I saw a note to that effect pop up on my screen once). DZ and I are using Adobe Acrobat XI.

Stuart below stated that we don’t have additional seats or options other than our current Acrobat XI Pro. If we want to investigate other Adobe Acrobat options beyond our current “buggy” product, we need to research it. Stuart and the MCC team will support whatever we decide to do. DZ and I definitely want to use Adobe Acrobat. I’ve asked DZ to research options and get back to us. We can then use that information to decide on what we want to do (either for Planning only or for everyone who may be having the same issues).

Feel free to weigh in on this, if you have ideas/feedback/ or anything else to offer before DZ embarks on his research next week.

Thank you,

Alice

Hey Dan,

Sorry for the delayed response. In short, no there are no more available options. All licenses have been used. Alice mentioned earlier that the CITY may be interested in a “business” subscription for Adobe Pro. Lance I discussed briefly on the matter and it is completely up to you how you want to move forward with that. We’d be more than happy to purchase the licenses and manage the subscriptions or the City can purchase the licenses and we can help distribute the software.

Thank You,

Stuart Rios

Stuart and Matt,

Alice and I have Adobe Acrobat XI installed on our machines. It’s crashing all the time for us both.

Apparently, other members are not having the same issues. IIRC, we have access to a later version, which I declined because I liked this one more.

Can you confirm, and if so are we able to upgrade on our current license? If so, we would like to do that. If not, we will discuss.

Thanks!
