Importance: Normal
FYI – Molalla Head Start currently operates out of the Molalla High School. They now wants to add a classroom (or rooms) for younger kids (18 month and up). We found that this fits into the “preschool use category” and therefore fits into the Public and Semi-Public zone.
If you have any other issues we should be thinking about, let me know.

Hi Mike,
Can you confirm the age range that they spoke to you about. When I spoke with their reps they mentioned 18 mo and up.
From the use perspective – this is typically younger than we’d consider for preschool but the nature of the program is consistent with the preschool use and we had determined it would be allowed under zoning code. Fire/building concerns would be the main gauntlets and we would want the approvals of both prior to licensing.

Good afternoon. I was contacted by Clackamas County Children’s Commission this week. The purpose of their conversation with me was to see what it would take to turn a class room at the high school in to early head start. One of the things that concerned me initially was the age group which included infants. With the COVID situation and me not being able to go out and inspect, I asked them to provide a basic layout of the class room and some crib dimensions which they have done. There is a range in the class room that they will not be allowed to use. Does Clackamas County or the City of Molalla have any input/comments/concerns? The high school is a fully sprinkled building. Just FYI.

Hi Mike -
Thank you for our phone conversation earlier today, I really appreciate your time! I wanted to follow up on this. I have a couple of attachments to share. One is the basic drawing of the space. The 2nd is the same drawing, but I had our Education Manager add some detail of where things would be in the Early Head Start classroom. You had expressed concern about the evacuation crib fitting through the doors there. Below is a link to the crib we use in our centers - it's 26 inches wide.
I hope this helps to get us started. Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional information and I'll get it to you ASAP.
Thank you again!
Erich
