Hi Aida,
A stop is not allowed in the public right of way but may be allowed on your property as long as it meets code requirements. My recommendation is that you contact Dan Zinder, Assistant Planner by email and ask him if you can construct a structure and if there are any limitations to the structure such as height, size, outside treatments, etc. Once you have confirmed that it is OK or that you can receive a Planning approval, the next step is to verify with Clackamas County Building Department if there are any building code requirements you will have to meet. We have a property known as Plaza Los Robles, that we have wanted to add a school bus stop coverage for some time now. We are hoping to have the coverage added no later than this fall which explains why I am reaching out to you today. I was wondering if we need permission from the city to add the stop coverage and if so who/how I would go about proposing the idea.
