First, what does the code say. There is a furniture zone next to the curb that is reserved for bike racks, planters, drinking fountains, street signs, etc. As I remember it, there can be no displays in front of the building on the sidewalk. Displays can only be in the notched areas by the doorways that is on the private property side. The reason for this is that we have to provide access for pedestrians, meet ADA requirements, and don’t want the fronts of buildings clogged up with stuff. Not sure what prior planners did along the state highway. Public Works is not part of that discussion on Main Street. Let me know what you find in the code. Thanks.

The owner of Parli Boutique came in today asking about whether the City would allow outdoor display racks on the sidewalk.
Sam and I were thinking that a no-fee ROW permit with conditions regarding obstruction of pedestrian traffic may be appropriate. But it’s your ROW
