Gerald – If there is still time, let’s circle back around to our discussions on GPS collection into the future. These are the two quotes that were quoted from our Trimble distributor.

* The first quote is for a packing including an upgraded machine (1 cm accuracy) – including software, just under $14,000
* The second quote is for another 10cm accuracy device package. It would have better vertical accuracy than my current unit. Frankly, I am not interested in this and would prefer to repair the one I have – especially given the modest price bump to a 1cm unit upgrade.

If that opportunity has passed for this cycle, I will need to replace my phone to tether internet service to the GPS device through a hot spot and my existing GPS unit needs either repair or a new battery to be functional.

Thanks very much for your email.

I’ve attached both quotes; one for the Geo7X Centimeter Kit and one for the Geo7X H-Star (10cm) system. They both include the laser rangefinder. These prices are the standard Oregon-Washington contract prices and do not reflect the sale prices that technically expired on December 31, 2018. By the time you are ready to place an order, I will update the quote that will reflect the current standard or special pricing.

Here’s the link to fill out the form in preparation to send your Geo6000 in for repair. Make sure you choose the Tukwila (Seattle) repair center. After filling out the form, print it out and put that paper copy inside the box before sending it to Seattle. They will evaluate the unit and let you know what they find prior to repairing it.

As well as the info on fixing our GEO6 unit.

One question my boss had about new units is whether any of them come with internal hotspots or if we would still have to tether through the hotspot on our phones.
