Hi Matt,
If I bring a copy in for someone to visually verify then that will work. However, I cant allow an electronic or paper copy to remain at you office for security reasons. Please verify with your attorney that this option will work or if your attorney needs to see it at their office if it is in Portland. Thanks.

I apologize Gerald, I thought the account manager had responded. We sent your request to the Trust Attorney and this is what he said;
"You can mail it or walk it in, but this is a requirement that has been put in place for all participants and you are not excepted from it. The Trust put in the requirements because of a discovery of misreporting of dependents and the resulting misuse of Plan assets. If you don't comply coverage will be suspended for your dependents. You may submit an appeal."

Subject: Dependent Verification Program
Hi Matt,
Chaunee suggested that I contact you regarding a letter I received dated 10/05/18 and a conversation I had with on of your representatives. The issue is WC Earhart’s request that I provide copies of my children’s birth certificates to your company to verify that they are in fact my children. Firstly, this information should have been requested when I signed up in 2016 yet your company was satisfied with me providing their dates of birth and social security numbers. This information was not requested, and your company has provided coverage for a year and a half to my family.
The reason why I am refusing to provide you with a copy of our children’s birth certificate is that WC Earhart will not guarantee that their electronic system is 100% secure from hacking and identity theft. With a copy of a birth certificate, SS number, and date of birth, anyone can assume the identity of my children and cause financial ruin to them for the rest of their lives. I have personal experience with this having had my information stolen thru data breaches at Veteran’s Administration, Social Security, Experian, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and others. If a global banking system cannot protect my data, then how can I trust my children’s information with WC Earhart when they will not give iron clad data security coverage in writing to me and every other participant in your program. I was informed during my conversation with Ann that the Board has made its decision, which tells me they don’t care about the safety of our personal data, and that my coverage will be suspended.
So, here is where we stand. My wife and I will not provide you with copies of our children’s birth certificates. Your company must take our word for it that our children are really ours and the document that I signed that says giving false information is punishable will suffice. Or, WC Earhart is going to have to provide another alternative, that does not risk our children’s information security, for determining the information that I have already provided to you is true. You can check with BCBS and will find out that they have been in the system since birth and that our information has been vetted by 3 City agencies and 1 State agency.
Please discuss this with your decision makers ASAP and keep my coverage active until this matter has been completely resolved. You can provide me with a decision/alternative option response in writing and mail it to my home address. Thank you.
