Hi Chaunee,
We presented the recommendations for water and sewer in October 28. The Council made the increase to sewer effective Jan 01 2016 at the November 18, 2015 meeting. On May 25, 2016, the Council approved a 15% rate increase for water to be effective on July 01, 2016. No other increases were taken to Council by resolution and the only increases that can be done by staff are inflationary for the prior year, based on Portland-Salem CPI-U, and effective on July 01 of each year.

Before I respond to our auditor I want to verify with you.
Is this correct?
Water rates were recommended a 20.21% increase in October 2015. Council rejected that and agreed to increase 7/1/16 at a 15% increase.

From the City’s website, it looks like the water rates increased by $5.77 per customer during the 2015-2016 year. Do you know when the rate increase took effect?
Do you know if that was the increase or was it a flat percentage?
