Agreed. And the folks that are currently doing flagging can take a simple flagger training course and get certified. ODOT and others have training available. They can also do it online through ATSSA. Here is the link.

http://www.atssa.com/OnlineFlagger

ATSSA charges $75 each for 1-9 students. Feel free to forward this information to the Buckaroo folks. They will need to have certified flaggers up and running next year or hire it out. It’s cheaper to have volunteers get certified or look up folks that are certified in the area and work with them to flag.

All –

Re-consideration of allowing the Rotary to do the traffic control similar to what they do at the Buckeroo might be reasonable. Since we don’t require the MBA to have certified flaggers and their events are huge during the 4th that just seems fair. Just my 2 cents.

Hi there,

I just got off the phone with Grant Sharp.

He called regarding the application that was submitted for the Chamber Eclipse Event. He was responding to Gerald’s comment on hiring flaggers and needed extra help from the PD.

Grant said that at this point, he has 6 camper registrations and 11 day passes sold. He is considering ‘pulling the plug’. He does not want to incur costs for an event that people are not showing up for. He will let us know soon if the is going to cancel.
