Hi Beth,

Please work with Christie to fill out an event permit and Public Works will approve the display of ribbons for homecoming. This paperwork helps us let everyone internally know what is going on with homecoming and the posting of ribbons. They will need to tie them tight, no tape or staples. Thanks.

Hi Christie,

There is no insurance requirement for posting of the ribbons so some of the items in the permit are N/A. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks.

Subject: Orange & Black for Homecoming

Hello! Boosters is once again hoping to "paint" the town Orange & Black with ribbons for Homecoming.....Homecoming this year is Thursday, October 12. We would like to get permission to put ribbons on the new trees on Molalla Ave, Main St., and the ones on Grange. We would also like to put a ribbon on the new black light poles on Molalla Ave if possible, as well as the trees and/or fences at the parks (Long, Clarke, and Fox). We will be staying away from telephone poles and any kind of street sign. Our goal is to have ribbons go up sometime the week/weekend before Homecoming, and then come down by that Sunday, I think it is the 15th. There will likely be other places that we will put up ribbons, but we will be getting permission from property owners, and will still stay away from telephone poles and street signs of any kind. Does this sound ok?

Thank you for considering it!

Beth Faulhaber, Booster President

Hello! Quick question for you.....we had put up some ribbons at Long Park (on trees and I think a garbage can or two) on Sunday and when I was walking the dog early yesterday morning I noticed that the only ribbons left were a couple on the OSU Extension signs. I wasn't sure if kids had ripped down the ones on the trees and staff had to clean it up? Or? We were thinking of putting them up again but wanted to make sure it was still ok, thank you!

Beth

Hi Beth,

Trees are OK. I just have to keep them off of the traffic control devices. Thanks.

Hi, quick follow up question for you....I know we can not put ribbons on any street signs, but I was wondering if putting ribbons on any of the City park trees and/or the trees or fence at Clarke Park along Cole street would be ok? They would all be removed by Sept. 25.

Thank you for considering it!

Hi Beth,

I have no problem with them getting into the spirit for homecoming. As long as the organizers can take care of cleanup, get OK’s from PGE and don’t put anything on the roadway signs and poles (stop sign, no parking signs, etc.) we are good at Public Works. Thanks for the heads up.

Thank you so much for the information, I think we are just thinking ribbons around poles, so hopefully that makes things easier all the way around....and we can have volunteers take them down the following Sunday.

McKenzie Behrle is the high school advisor for leadership who is in charge of Homecoming.....she is also one of the Ag teachers and they just came off a week at county fair and I am assuming will now have some State fair responsibilities for the Molalla FFA kids so she may be tough to get ahold of as a heads up. image

Thanks again!

Hi Beth,

You would need to contact PGE to get authorization. You will also need to do a permit for ODOT if you are going to put them down Main Street. At a city level I need to run it by Dan and Gerald.

Here is the contact at PGE and ODOT (Dist 2)that manages the banner permits etc. I have copied them on this email. Also, just a heads up that the parade route that was submitted will need to be changed to the route the Kiddie Parade took due to construction. Maeghan is trying to make contact with the person who submitted it to her as well to let them know it needs to be changed. We have a map of the route used for the Kiddie Parade on file already. If you have questions regarding the route you can contact Maeghan.

Hi Sadie! Roxie Smith said I should connect with you.....I am the current President of the MHS Orange & Black Boosters. We are hoping to engage the community in Homecoming this year (September 23) and were hoping to "paint the town Orange & Black" with ribbons like Relay for Life did with the purple ribbons. We were wondering what the process/permissions might be for that? We would like to put them up September 18, the Sunday before Homecoming week....Homecoming is early this year so any activities are a quick turn around image

Thank you for your guidance in this and hope you have been well!
