Interesting………………………………………….wonder why it took destruction of a major city to get here? And, right after all area communities said no to help quell the situation.

Subject: Regional Sign-On Letter: Regional Collective Call to End Violence

Dear City Elected Officials,

Following this weekend’s tragic death in downtown Portland associated with the ongoing protests, Governor Brown has called for a collective call to end violence. In response, the Tri-County Chairs have developed the attached letter that is being circulated to elected officials throughout the tri-county region for individual sign-on. Once finalized, the counties will be working on getting the letter published as an op-ed and deployed on social media, as well as arranging interviews with local television stations.

If you would like to sign on, please send your electronic signature to Elizabeth_mazzara-myers@co.washington.or.us and include your name & title exactly as you want it on the letter. By signing on, you would be doing so individually and not on behalf of your jurisdiction. If you are interested and willing to be interviewed, please note that in your email, I also recommend you notifying your Public Information Officer.

Note that the deadline to sign on is this Friday, Sept. 4 at 11:30am.

Thanks.
