Thanks Chaunee.

Andy – We follow the contract to the letter. The folks in the union need to read their contracts and follow the language in it. If an issue arises when following the contract then we will document it and address in the next round of contract talks. If it is an emergency then we follow the contract language and work with the union folks at Teamsters to have an interim plan. Note that any time we do something that does not follow the contract rules it becomes a bargaining issue. So, in accordance with 9.3 they will get the Friday off as planned and the following Monday off too. Document any coverage issues created by this contract rule. Thanks.

Adam came in and asked the same question. I thought he wanted to do half and half because of scheduling.

The contract clearly states on 9.3 how to address a day off on a holiday.

How is this addressed in the contract or did we miss this one.

Subject: July 3rd Holiday

Folks according to the Holiday Schedule July 3rd is a day off. On that Friday, due to the 9/80 schedule and 4/10 schedule, we have:

A Shultz, S Shephard, J Joost, J Ehredt, J Mccrum

Already scheduled for their normal off day. My plan is to simply giving these five individuals the option of either taking their Holiday on July 2nd or July 6th.

Respectfully,

Andy Peters
